very well made, much better than the cheap ones i have been getting at the local home stores.
I wouldn’t leave it up full time. The flag is good quality, but the hardware is kind of cheap. The instructions (yes, read the instructions for how to install a flag on a pole) say to remove the set screw. This is not refering to the wall mount, but at the top of the pole where the flag attaches. I broke the ring that hold the flag to the top in about 2 seconds while trying to attach the flag to the pole. Once I fixed the damage I created, the install was easy and the flag looks great. I’m not sure how it is going to hold up in the weather, but I will probably only use it on holidays.
I originally started to order a different American flag on Amazon and noticed that was made in China. It seems that this most basic bit of Americana should be purchased from a company that actually makes them here in the USA.
The flag itself seems well made. The Stars are sewn rather than screened. I like the spinning type of pole. that prevents the flag from wrapping itself up. I want to see “Old Glory” unfurled and flowing in the wind not wrapped up around a pole. This style pole works perfectly.
Cons
What I’m not crazy about is the quality of the pole was not very good. It had lots of small knot holes and was not straight.
The bracket that the flag came with is not the one pictured. (see my pictures in customer photos) It is not adjustable and is made in China.
I ended up purchasing Valley Forge 1-Inch Nickel Flag Bracket and I’m very happy with the quality and the look of this flag bracket. I feel it is reasonably priced for the quality. It is also good looking and a perfect fit for this flag kit.
I fly the flag every morning and take it down every night. So far the things that originally bothered me are not really a problem.
Please contact your local Boy Scout Troop for proper retirement of old, faded or tattered flags.
Sent as a gift, arrived way earlier than advertised. Love it. Looks great on my sisters house.
The nylon is lighter weight than cotton and blows easier. Don’t know how long lasting this flag will be yet.
