However, the comments posted by United States citizens tell a different story about how Americans really feel about health insurance reform. Overwhelmingly citizens disagree with the decision to put Obama Care in to law. spasmcreek wrote on 4/20/2010 4:32:46 AM: remember to work hard & pay your taxes so illegals can get free coverage from you before you provide for your own family….the irs will be in your bank account to help you get it all right…enjoy Maggotpunk wrote on 4/20/2010 3:13:52 AM: Republicans promise to undo these changes so people can get kicked off their insurance, be denied treatment for pre-existing conditions, and have the elderly pay more for health care. Change you can believe in. Mom_of_5 wrote on 4/20/2010 3:29:13 PM: JMWalker, of course they won’t call them death panels. We’ll have very “scientific” medical panels deciding which treatments are cost effective for which groups of people…it’ll be a very unfortunate side effect that some people will therefore be denied the treatment that would prolong life. A little spin, a little gloss, a bunch of lies…no one would EVER see through it… Have you ever checked out state-based healthcare disasters? How about Tenn-Care in Tennessee? Our wonderful new system has all the same earmarks that destroyed healthcare in Tennessee. But you don’t have to believe me, just stick around a few years. And whatever you do, don’t go looking into the hype around the beginnings of Social Security and Medicare and compare with the reality today. You’d get awfully depressed if you based your opinion on any facts. heckuvadeal wrote on 4/20/2010 2:26:46 PM: Probly time to start learnin how to clean your own teeth (you can buy kits for scraping plaque off your teeth), brewing home remedies for colds/flu, and maybe even learn how to do some minor surgeries. Cuz this is a step BACKWARD not forward…socialism leads to backwards societies…look how misdeveloped Russia is as a result of their communism years, not underdeveloped MISdeveloped…cities less than 1500 miles away from the North Pole…what a disaster. Communists have a strange way of doing everything, speshly healthcare. heckuvadeal wrote on 4/20/2010 2:19:38 PM: kscliff: Now that you are 65 you should also be prepared for the fact that medicare turns down more claims than any insurance company (which you’d think would be a red flag to all the socialized medicine supporters but somehow that kind of information flies over their heads). JMWalker wrote on 4/20/2010 12:54:11 PM: Mom_of_5. What are you trying to say, there will be death panels? They’re gone now that bill has passed. If you were honest about the whole thing, you and all the other naysayers would have admitted death panels were the norm under ALL insurance plans prior to the passing of the bill. I love it how the insurance were laughing all the way to the bank at people like you in their attempts to keep the status quo. Now, you want to return to the old ways and deny people coverage, Way to go, Mom_of_5, you’re a credit to your kids. Mom_of_5 wrote on 4/20/2010 12:15:53 PM: “Dave Wilson of Overland Park is state president of AARP Kansas”…no wonder he only specifies the few things he likes among the thousands of pages of tax hikes, denials of coverage, and government control of everything from what we eat to how far we walk every day. AARP totally sold out it’s members. Not that it’ll matter, once it’s decided that they’re too old for their care to be “cost effective.” Only the “useful” will be worth care in a few years. JMWalker wrote on 4/20/2010 11:48:09 AM: Average cost of health care per person in America: ,290.00 Average cost of health care per person in the next highest country (Where they have universal health care: 17.00 So why is it every other country pays less per capita than we do? Precisely because they have universal health care. Numbers don’t lie: people do, and the right wing has been lying about health care from day one. george wrote on 4/20/2010 11:15:55 AM: Know one thing for sure costs will go up & away regardless of who pays. It is impossible to take in millions people more and not have costs go up. sadie12 wrote on 4/20/2010 6:55:14 AM: Everything in this healthbill is going to affect you. If you honestly think that there are going to be no cuts in Medicare or benefits you are sadly mistaken. We will still have the issue of reimbursement for Physicians. Right now they are paid at 80% of what Medicare allows. They keep allowing less and less. This will create a shortage of medical care. When patients start calling their Dr. and cannot be seen because they cannot get paid. This will be change you can really count on. Cuts to Home Health Care, Hospice and Durable Medical Equipment will bring much hardship to the elderly and their families. It has been getting alot more difficult the last year with Medical Practices as a majority of procedures or treatment require review or just simply are not covered. This includes Medicare. If it is not on the list you do not receive it. If you did receive care and it is not on the list the Physcian is forced to absorb the cost. How long do you think that is going to happen? It makes me sick to think that America is so self absorbed they do not understand the basics anymore. Wake up and smell the coffee. kscliff wrote on 4/20/2010 6:33:52 AM: HOG-WASH…….I just turned 65 and none of this BS is in the offical hand book I rec’d. What I did see was a 9% increase in the monthly payment from last year ( 1,400 anual premium), a 10% pen. if I don’t enroll also note the 21% decrease in allowed charges that are in effect now. Don’t forget that most all seniors’ guaranteed Medicare benefits require a 20% co-pay of the allowed payment. Believe all of the “if and buts” if you want too the HC bill will not reduce cost or improve services. HonestObserver wrote on 4/20/2010 5:20:19 AM: Cost of illegals is pegged at 2.6 trillion for Hitler’s health care plan.
