As a member of QuestNet, the culture is to keep attending workshops. Even though I skipped several of them, but I always tried to create time to attend. In one of the presentations, the presenter told us that this initiative has reached over 150 countries, America and other industrialized countries included. In fact, I better had titled my article, ‘Why citizens from industrialized countries are not interested’. However, America was used as an example.
I must say that the talk on why ‘Americans are not interested in QuestNet’ was not even raised as a question. The presenter just volunteered to explain. The following two reasons were given: 1. We Africans need QuestNet more than any other continent in the world
This was a reason that was based on our desperate economic performance. According to the presenter, QuestNet could change the economic strength of all that has got to do with our country. American economy is doing very well and that is why her citizens are less interested.
As far as I’m concerned, any country will have to continuously work on its economy to make sure it remains afloat or inevitably the economy will be run down. Believe me, America works hard to keep the flag up as much as we do in Africa. 2. US $ 250 in nothing to Americans
At QuestNet, you have to get three representatives on the right and on the left to earn a commission of US $ 250. Ok, that was the last time I checked, it could have changed. With US $ 250 in Africa you can do a lot of things, while in America you can’t do much. I heard that a loaf of bread costs about US $ 10 in the US, I couldn’t verify that. If so, then it is really terrible. However, I do agree to that there is an element of truth in getting fewer goods for the same monitory value than in Africa.
I only differ when it comes to saying, ‘US $ 250 is of no interest because it’s less in value’. Not when I see a lot of Americans selling products as cheap as $ 0.99 or even less online. I tell you, Americans would rightly take the challenge of collecting cents into their pockets. This is not meant to be an offense to anyone as I also believe that it is the right thing to do. Remember the old saying, ‘Take care of the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves’. I’ll prove to you why I say this. On the right or left of this article are Google AdSense ads that mostly accumulate credit for the website owner in cents, absolute cents. Even if this website may not be based in America, but there are millions of American websites that do the same. There are lots more other programes online that pay commission rates of as little as US $ 0.02. Then think of US $ 250.
